Brian May : "John Deacon, qui était totalement dans son propre monde, est arrivé avec [Another one bites the dust], qui ne ressemblait à rien de ce que nous faisions… Il y eut rapidement tellement de stations New-Yorkaises qui le passèrent que nous nous sommes retrouvés obligés de sortir le titre en single. Ca a fait passer l'album d'un million à trois millions de ventes en l'affaire de trois semaines environ."

John Deacon : "A l'école, j'écoutais beaucoup de musique soul et j'ai toujours été interessé par ce style de musique. J'ai longtemps eu envie de faire un morceau comme 'Another One Bites The Dust', mais à l'origine tout ce que j'avais était le fil conducteur et la mélodie de la basse. Progressivement je l'ai rempli et le groupe a ajouté des idées. En entendant la chanson je me disais qu'on pourrait danser dessus mais je n'avais pas la moindre idée de la dimension énorme que ça allait prendre. La chanson fut séparée de notre album et certaines stations de radio noires Américaines commencèrent à la passer, ce qui ne nous était jamais arrivé jusqu'alors."
